BPA Free Bottles
There are several types of 18.9 litre water bottles on the market today, the most prevalent is the polycarbonate plastic bottle. This is the industry standard among water delivery companies. The bottles are light and very durable, that’s why so many water delivery companies use them.
However, the polycarbonate plastic water bottles (marked by recycling symbol #7), contains a chemical known as Bisphenol A (BPA). Some studies have shown that BPA can potentially cause adverse health effects in humans. The polycarbonate plastic bottles are still approved by the Government of Canada, however, the potential harm of BPA means that we, at natur water, will never use BPA bottles.
In October of 2008 the Government of Canada banned BPA baby bottles in Canada. In announcing the decision Environment Minister John Baird declared:
"Many Canadians, especially mothers of babies and small children in my own constituency of Ottawa West-Nepean, have expressed their concern to me about the risks of bisphenol A in baby bottles. Today's confirmation of our ban on BPA in baby bottles proves that our government did the right thing in taking action to protect the health and environment for all Canadians."
Quite simply we believe that if BPA bottles aren’t safe for your children they aren’t safe for you. We utilize a new bottle type in the form of PET (polyethylene terephthalate) plastic bottles and glass bottles. PET plastic bottles have been used as single serve bottles but now they are also available in the form of 18.9 litre bottles. PET plastic is 100% BPA-free, is very durable and lightweight so it is perfect for 18.9 litre water bottles.
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
Natur water is dedicated to reusing, recycling and reducing waste. When you purchase natur water's zero waste bottles, you help the environment by reducing landfill waste and the demand for crude oil. Once we are no longer able to use our bottles, they are recycled to help the environment by becoming other products, such as carpet fibers and other packaging products. In addition, all of our zero waste bottles have no-spill seals for a quick, dry set-up and handles for easy transport. They can fit any water dispenser and are available in 18.9 litre PET bottles.
Compared to single serve bottles our returnable, refillable water bottles have a 94.4% lower green house gas footprint. We also use 96.2% less energy for the production, cleaning and distribution of our bottles.
Each of our 18.9 litre water bottles is used on average over 50 times the equivalent of over 1,900 single serve 500 ml bottles.
Back To Nature
We are pleased to provide our customers with the world's first ecologically sensitive bottle cap. This amazing cap is made to be put into the landfill when you are done with it. Through a special additive the cap will simply decompose into natural, harmless compounds, another first for natur water.
